On December 3, 2021, the Chinese Embassy in Kenya and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya jointly held a media briefing on the outcomes of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Ambassador Zhou Pingjian and Director General of the Department of Asia and Australia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya Ndonggu briefed the media and answered questions.  More than 30 Kenyan journalists from mainstream and central media attended the event.  

Zhou Pingjian ambassador, said a BBS Dakar conference a complete success, xi jinping, chairman attended the opening ceremony in video and keynote speech, china-africa china-africa friendly cooperation spirit and constructing new era in terms of the community of fate, announced that both sides will work together to implement "nine project", fully embodies the China attaches great importance to china-africa relations.  The meeting reviewed the implementation of the outcomes of the previous forum, agreed on the next step of cooperation, and adopted four outcome documents, demonstrating the strong will of China and Africa to overcome difficulties and seek common development. China's input in Africa continues unabated and the momentum of China-Africa cooperation continues to grow.  China is ready to strengthen synergy with Kenya, seize the opportunity, build on the momentum, implement the outcomes of the FORUM and push for new progress of china-Kenya comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.  

Director General Ndonggu briefed Kenya and himself on the participation and said that the results of the Forum exceeded expectations and were encouraging.  The nine projects have met Africa's needs and spearhead China-Africa cooperation. They have been warmly welcomed.  China provides vaccines to meet Africa's urgent needs, increases imports to meet Africa's expectations, and promotes investment to meet Africa's aspirations. Poverty reduction, agricultural benefits, digital innovation and capacity building are all important aspects for African countries to achieve independent and sustainable development.  Kenya has benefited a lot from focAC cooperation and knows full well that China does what it says and the FocAC is never a "talking shop". The Dakar Conference has provided new opportunities for African countries to strengthen cooperation with China.  Kenya will work closely with China to deliver more outcomes of the FORUM in Kenya.  

Ambassador Zhou pingjian and Director General Ndonggu also answered questions on the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit, vaccine cooperation, trade balance, investment in industrialization and production capacity, technology transfer, capacity building, China's investment in Africa and the practice of true multilateralism.
