Q: Your Excellency Ambassador, how do you do? As the People's Republic of China marks its 72nd anniversary under the leadership of Chairman MAO Zedong, how do you comment on China's development?

A: MAO Zedong was the core of the CPC's first generation of central collective leadership and the main founder of the People's Republic of China. Under his leadership, New China advanced socialist construction, established the basic socialist system, and realized the most extensive and profound social transformation in the history of the Chinese nation, laying the fundamental political premise and institutional foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Q: US President Joe Biden said at the UN General Assembly that "The US does not seek a new cold War or a divided world". Can you assure us that conflicts between China and the United States will not lead the world into confrontation and undermine global peace?

A: There is an old Chinese saying, "Listen to what you say and observe what you do." I have noticed that at the same time as President Biden's remarks, the United States announced the establishment of a trilateral security partnership with the United Kingdom and Australia and nuclear submarine technology cooperation, which has aroused great concern among countries in the region. Such attempts to form "cliques" and stimulate an arms race are not conducive to the unity of the international community, but threaten regional and world peace and stability.

Peace, development and win-win cooperation are the trend of our times. The so-called "new Cold War" is turning the clock back on history and runs counter to the fundamental interests of people of all countries. Recently, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the General Debate of the UN General Assembly, stressing that all countries should practice true multilateralism, uphold dialogue rather than confrontation, inclusiveness rather than exclusivity, and reject cliques and zero-sum games. There is no room in the world for all countries to grow and progress together. It is natural for countries to have differences and disagreements, but dialogue and cooperation should be conducted on the basis of equality and mutual respect.

The China-us relationship is one of the most important bilateral relationships in the world today. Since the beginning of this year, President Xi Jinping and President Biden have had two phone conversations, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with the United States to develop a china-us relationship based on coordination, cooperation and stability in the spirit of non-conflict, non-confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation.

Q: In 1983, Cote d 'Ivoire severed its so-called "diplomatic relations" with the Taiwan authorities and established diplomatic ties with China. How has bilateral cooperation progressed over the past 38 years?

A: There is only one China in the world. The Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. This is not only recognized by the UN resolutions, but also by the general consensus of the international community. In 1983, The founding president of Cote d 'Ivoire, Pierre Boigny, made the political decision of recognizing the One-China principle, severing diplomatic ties with Taiwan and establishing diplomatic ties with the People's Republic of China. History and reality prove that this decision serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples.
