The Consulate General in Cape Town handed over anti-epidemic supplies to Ms. Peterson, Chairperson of the Police Committee of the South African National Assembly

At noon on September 10th, The Chinese Consulate General in Cape Town donated supplies to the Community Police Forum volunteers in Khayelitsha, Mfuleni and Langa in Cape Town at MPA Healthcare. On behalf of the Consulate-General, MPA Medical Devices has handed over to Hon. Chairperson Ms. Tina Pettersson, Chairperson of the Police Committee of the South African National Assembly, supplies totalling r55 000 collected by the Consulate-General, including 20,000 disposable medical masks, 100 bottles of disinfectant and 20 relief food parcels helped these poor community police volunteers tide over difficulties. More than 20 people including police commission staff and community volunteers attended the donation ceremony.

Chairman Peterson expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Consulate General. She said Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, Langa and other Cape Town communities benefiting from the donation are among the poorest in South Africa. The food packages and epidemic prevention materials donated by the Consulate-General not only included essential food such as rice, noodles and edible oil, but also personal protective necessities such as medical masks and disinfectant, demonstrating the sincere friendship between south China and China and the two ruling parties that have stood firm through thick and dry. She spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between China and South Africa in many fields, saying that China is an important strategic partner of South Africa and the two countries support each other in important international affairs, especially in multilateral areas such as the United Nations and BRICS. Finally, on behalf of the Police Committee of the South African National Assembly, she extended warm congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and sincerely wished china-South Africa friendship forever.

On the afternoon of the same day, relief food packages and personal protective equipment donated by the Consulate-General were delivered to the volunteers. The volunteers expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Chinese government and consulate General.
