The reception officially began with the solemn national anthem of China and Malaysia. In his speech, Ambassador Liu reviewed China's remarkable achievements since the founding of the People's Republic of China. He said that under the strong leadership of the COMMUNIST Party of China (CPC), China has grown from an impoverished agricultural country to the world's second largest economy, contributing more than 30 percent of world economic growth for many years in a row. This year, China has won the tough battle against poverty, completed the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and made more solid strides on the road to common prosperity for all.

Ambassador Liu pointed out that the rights to subsistence and development are the primary basic human rights. The COMMUNIST Party of China (CPC) has led China on a path of human rights development that suits China's national conditions, and the basic rights of the Chinese people are increasingly respected and protected. Ambassador Liu pointed out that protecting and promoting human rights is the common cause of all. Global human rights governance should be discussed by all countries and the fruits of human rights development should be shared by all peoples. Human rights are not the monopoly of a few countries, still less should they be used as a tool to put pressure on other countries or interfere in their internal affairs.

Ambassador Liu said that in the face of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, the COMMUNIST Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government have put the people and life first, launched a people's war, all-out war and containment war against the epidemic, safeguarded the lives and health of the Chinese people, and provided assistance to countries and international organizations in need. At present, COVID-19 is still raging. Research on tracing the source of the virus is of great significance for understanding the source of the virus, guiding epidemic prevention and control, and preventing similar outbreaks from happening again. However, some irresponsible countries and politicians have not only failed to fight the virus at home, but also spread a "political virus" around the world in an attempt to "blame" other countries and create new challenges for global solidarity in fighting the virus and tracing its origin. China believes that tracing the source of the virus is a serious scientific issue that does not tolerate any political manipulation.

Ambassador Liu said that China and Malaysia established diplomatic ties in 2007 on the basis of the One-China principle. Over the past 14 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, bilateral relations have witnessed rapid and steady development, deepening political mutual trust and advancing practical cooperation. Bilateral relations are now at their best in history. President Xi Jinping recently had a phone conversation with President Chakuwila at request, charting the course for the development of China-Malaysia relations. China is ready to deepen cooperation with Malaysia under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative to help Malaysia realize its vision plan for 2063. China also looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Malaysia in international affairs and safeguarding the common interests of developing countries.
