On October 21, 2021, Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li and Deputy Sudanese Foreign Minister Nawaz Sharif held political consultations between the Foreign ministries of China and Sudan through video meeting.

Deng said that China and Sudan enjoy traditional friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 62 years ago, bilateral relations have been developing in a sound way. China attaches great importance to developing relations with Sudan and stands ready to work with Sudan to jointly safeguard each other's core interests and major concerns and expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Sudan and push for continuous development of china-Sudan, China-Arab and China-Africa relations.

Sharif once again congratulated Sudan on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He said China has always been a good friend and partner of Sudan and hoped that China would continue to provide assistance and support to Sudan in political, economic and other fields. Sudan is ready to strengthen practical cooperation with China under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, actively respond to The Global Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and jointly safeguard the common interests of developing countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional hotspot issues.
